Cleaning before a move in Montréal: where to start

Moving is stressful. A good cleaning plan makes handing over keys or arriving in your new home easier.

1. Clean when the home is empty

The best time is once the furniture is out: baseboards, cabinets and floors are easy to reach.

2. Start high

In each room clean fixtures, ledges and walls first, then surfaces, and finish with floors.

3. Focus on kitchen and bathrooms

Oven, fridge, inside cabinets, shower, toilet and mirrors.

4. The small details

Handles, switches, window tracks and vents get dirty quickly.

5. Leave time for a final check

Do one last round with a flashlight.
